In 2019, the current account surplus decreased in comparison to the previous year against the background of declining prices for the Russia’s major export commodities. Net landing to the rest of the world was made in a form of accumulation of international reserves with balancing other flows, which are reflected in the financial accounts of the balance of payments. The positive balance of private sector financial transactions was formed as a result of reduction of liabilities by banks, while other sectors neutrally contributed to the formation of cross-border capital flows.
